Tips to save time with Chrome, Github and Replit [For Beginners]

Improve your efficiency while working on projects with Chrome Bookmarks, Save as PDF, Github Lists and Replit Folders.

Below I share a few things that might be useful to improve your efficiency while working on projects.

Chrome Bookmarks. Bookmarks are a fast way to access frequently used websites. Enable the bookmark bar on Chrome browser. And if you come across a website you frequently use, just select the entire address from the address bar and drag it in the bookmark section. You can always rename the name that appears on the bookmark bar.

Bookmark folders: But instead of storing single website links if you wish to store a set of web pages, you can right click the bookmark tab and create a folder. You can now drag and drop web links directly in the folder name visible on the bookmark bar. Folders are extremely useful when researching on a topic or working on a big project where you need to access a few resources quickly.

Mobile bookmarks: If you have logged into Chrome browser on desktop with an id and same id is logged in mobile Chrome browser, there is a neat feature. You can bookmark the websites on the mobile Chrome browser and go to the desktop and visit the Bookmark manager at chrome://bookmarks or shortcut Ctrl+Shift+O to find them stored in the “Mobile bookmarks” section. I think for it to work well, you need to have the same id logged into Chrome browser at website and mobile. So it syncs well. This is a neat feature to save websites on the go.

Chrome Browser - Save as PDF. Let’s say you come across a website and you want to refer to it often, you can save that web page as a pdf through chrome browser both via mobile and desktop. For the desktop just enter the print page command and then under the printer option select “save as pdf”. You can adjust the page settings so that the article or page looks readable. Save as PDF may not show for all websites though. But maybe available for most. For mobile browsers, just visit Share page options that you will see after clicking the three dots - Chrome browser menu.

GitHub and Replit files organizing: For GitHub, you can go to the repository page and add the repo to a “list”. The list is accessible under the “stars” section. This is useful if you are using a lot of test repos and you want to access the main-final files faster. Lists are a beta feature of Github. For Neocamp Level Zero projects - Mark 1-15 you can create a list and add all the repos to that list. There is also a pinned repo option that you might want to use to highlight your main work. As of now you can pin 6 repos on your Github profile.

For Replit, If you are using multiple test files under a project, you can create a folder and move them all to that folder. Folders in Replit are a good way to access files based on a particular topic. For Neocamp Level Zero projects - Mark1-Mark15 if you have created any test files, place them all in one folder.

Use shortcuts and above tips and improve efficiency in your projects. That's all for now.
